The colt sells March 12th as Hip No. 122 from the Scanlon Training Center Consignment. Bred by Buck Pond Farm owner Douglas S. Seattle Fitz (Arg) has already served notice that he will be a sire to be reckoned with. His first 2-year-old, the filly China Bowl out of the mare Light Line, sold for $160,000 at the recent OBS February Selected 2-Year-Old Sale. Selling as Hip No. 47, the filly was bred by J & J Equine Investment and was originally sold for $12,000 at the 2007 OBS January Mixed Sale. The filly was consigned by Don Graham, who said of her before the sale, "she’s working as fast, or faster, than anything I’ve ever had."

In the recent Blood-Horse Insider’s Guide, renowned bloodstock agent Buzz Chace had this to say about Seattle Fitz (Arg) as a sire:

"I think he’s a sleeper. He gets a darn good-looking horse…and he’s getting horses that look like they could sprint or go long. They’re a lot like him."

So don’t leave yourself in a position of kicking yourself next year because you don’t have a Seattle Fitz (Arg) baby on the way. Time to get in while the getting is good.
